General Leasing
General Leasing Ca local company) collaborated with MWF to produce their 2010 calendar. The theme is L:envols (the flight) and features beautiful photographs of some of the Mauritian endemic birds in flight taken by photographer Gregory Guide. The calendar also explains how the conservation work is carried out by MWF. General Leasing has financed copies of the calendars to be donated to schools that take part in the MWF Education Project. CIM Group, a local corporate sponsor of MWF, sent 100 staff members to lie aux Aigrettes over 5 Wednesdays in order to help with the weeding of non-native invasive plants on the island. Though lie aux Aigrettes has been fully restored with endemic and native plant species, maintenance weeding is still required on a regular basis, and it is most appreciated when more people come along and lend a helping hand. The day spent with MWF also gave the participants an understanding of the importance of nature conservation in Mauritius and how this is carried out on lie aux Aigrettes.MWF is an accredited NGO (Reg. N/1 070) for corporate social responsibility CCSR) activities (www.net.mU/csr) and is seeking funds for its 19 different projects. Please contact us if you wish to be' a CSR partner.
