This MWF education project aims at attracting local groups (schools and community groups) to experience the Mauritian fiora and fauna 'live' at lie aux Aigrettes, in order to build awareness and pride in the native wildlife, to raise awareness of the need for conservation in Mauritius and to showcase the conservation work of MWF and partner institutions. Anglo Mauritius, part of the Swan Group/financed Education Tours on lie aux Aigrettes for 163 children from two public schools based in Riche en Eau and Cluny, in December 2009. These visits were part of an existing project undertaken by the Foundation Resources et Nature, the Rotary Club Curepipe and the UNDP GEF-SGP for the development of cultural and environmental education. As part, of the project, clubs are created at schools and three appropriate outings are organised per year.
